A month ago I was contacted by Edo Japan to do an exciting partnership called "Edo for a week" to help spread the word about their ongoing Edo Your Heart Out campaign. This gives the opportunity for Edo-lovers and Edo newbies to see what Edo Japan has to offer and introduce new menu items. As an Edo newbie, I decided to join the campaign and give you the inside scoop on what it’s like to visit Edo Japan various times this week. Edo Japan has generously given me a food allowance to do this post and the creative freedom to blog my experience with you.
On my first visit, my dad and I went in the morning to Guildford mall, located in Surrey, to get my first taste. The workers were friendly and my food came instantly, keep in mind we did go early to beat the lunch and brunch rush for today. We ordered the Chicken Noodlefull Bowl, Crispy Tempura Shrimp Chop Chop bowl, Beef Chop Chop Bowl and Yam Tempura snacks with Spicy Mayo.
G I V E A W A Y • I hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend! I have partnered with Edo Japan to explore “Edo for a week” and give you a chance to try it too. Today, I ordered the #Chicken Noodlefull Bowl with thin ramen-style noodles & #teriyaki sauce, Crispy #Tempura Shrimp Chop Chop bowl + #Beef Chop Chop Bowl with Bulgogi sauce, and Yam Tempura chips with spicy mayo. Chicken Noodlefull Bowl - Thin ramen-style noodles with chicken, teriyaki sauce, and vegetables.
Crispy Tempura Shrimp Chop Chop bowl - Deep fried Shrimp tempura with edamame beans, diced cucumbers, peppers, carrot shreds on rice with Bulgogi sauce, green onions, and crispy bits.
Beef Chop Chop Bowl - Grilled beef with edamame beans, diced cucumbers, peppers, carrot shreds on rice with Bulgogi sauce, green onions, and crispy bits.
Yam Tempura Snacks - Deep fried yam tempura chips with spicy mayo sauce

The Crispy Tempura Shrimp Chop Chop bowl was my favourite. The tempura with bulgogi sauce on rice was well balanced with flavour and had a good crunch to soft texture ratio. My family enjoyed the Beef Chop Chop Bowl; however, I found the teriyaki sauce overpowering and a bit too salty for my liking. Next time, I will request for less sauce. Lastly, you can't go wrong with Yam tempura. It was a nice side dish to go with any meal.
On my second visit, I went to Pacific Centre located in downtown Vancouver for a quick meal before my engagement shoot. I ordered the Dynamite roll, two Beef rolls, and the California roll with spicy mayo on the side. I went during the busy evening and I'm guessing very rarely do people order sushi at this location since the food court already had a stall selling pre-made sushi - my order took longer to make. The workers were very patient with me as I forgot to bring my gift cards and had to get them to manually punch in my gift card bar code numbers. I enjoyed the Dynamite and Beef rolls the best. I found the rolls flavorful and satisfying. Sadly, the classic California roll was my least favourite out of this order.
This week flew by fast and today, I went back to the Guildford location for my last visit with Edo for a week. The same workers who served me last time still remember me from my first visit. I ordered the Shrimp Udon, Spring Rolls, Gyoza, and Chocolate Pocky. I was not a fan of the udon noodles itself however, the freshly grilled and lightly seasoned shrimp was very good. I also was surprised to find 15 shrimps in my udon, which is a generous amount. I definitely enjoyed my snack order of my visit this time. I think the Spring Rolls, Gyoza, and Chocolate Pocky were my highlight for today.

I want to thank Edo Japan for sponsoring this opportunity for me to try out Edo Japan for the first time. I checked out 2 locations in British Columbia, visited Edo Japan 3 times this week, and had enough food to share with my family for 5 days. Overall, I had great customer service and found meals I enjoyed more than the other based on my taste buds. I think my go-to order for next time will be the Crispy Tempura Shrimp Chop Chop bowl with a side of Spring rolls and Chocolate Pocky. Don't forget to check out my 2nd Giveaway with Edo Japan!
