Woot! I’ve finished all my finals. On Tuesday my friend met me
downtown early in the morning. We went to Soirette Macarons & Tea
on West Pender Street. It’s about a five-minute
bus ride or fifteen minute walk from Pacific Centre.

Lavender - one of my favorite macarons, however my sisters would
describe it as "soap-tasting" :(. Very mild tasting with a hint of
lavender.
Malibu - I'm not a big fan of coconut, but if you like coconut,
then you will enjoy this macaron. I found it overly sweet.
Savory White Truffle – Truffle as in the expensive fungus.
Very interesting, I’ve never thought of truffle in macarons, but it does work. On top we have truffle infused salt, once it
hits your tongue you will be blown away. The flavor of the salt really intensify
truffle flavor from the macaron, leaving your mouth with the truffle
aftertaste. If you have never tasted truffle oil or know what taste like, I
recommend you eat a truffle dish before trying this macaron.
Caramel Fleur De Sel – Sweet, gooey, and the caramel inside was
really good.
Early Grey Cassis – Not my favorite, I was expecting more from it.
The chocolate ganache filling was too over powering and you could hardly taste
the earl grey.
Amandine – Another favorite, I love the mild/neutral tasting
macacrons. This is basically a vanilla macaron with an extra kick of almond
extract. It takes about five seconds for the almond to kick in.
